One of my new year's promises was to keep myself open to new people & experiences. Unbelievable how hard it has proven to be!

Afterwork drinks has become at least once a week activity and I can barely keep up with my already busy schedule. (Sorry for all of you who I still haven been able to give a slot).

Proud single women wont beg for roses or attention on valentines day (And I didn't get anything... oh sorry actually all you guys back in Finland remembered me as well as Fiona in here. But nothing from men...or that man) so me and Caterina found our way to the Loop bar for a few drinks and rounds in the dance floor.

My voice is still down from saturday's "a drink". But I warmly recommend O'Neil's to anyone looking for a bit more relaxed place with sports, live music etc. (Beware of the sticky floors!)

BTW my scale of emotions have been overwhelming during the olympics. Finland did so well (could have done better but medal is medal). One morning babysitting became absolutely convenient when Finland's women's team was playing against Sweden and the family had a nice TV with all the channels. Baby boy got a lesson of patriotism and the real sport ice hockey! At my work they have been understanding during games when I had to quickly dive to the locker room to the results every 15min. One of my colleagues is originally from USA and oh how sweet it has been rubbing that salt to his wounds after FIN 5-0 USA game. With a american attitude his trying to show of a poker face and say that why to bother to play properly when it's not gold but I know you guys too well! WOOP WOOP! World Championships in a couple of months. Can't wait!

Lately I have had a lot of fun and "extra rights" due to been a woman, blond, immigrant, short and curvy etc. So I got the right to put everything on been a foreigner when misspelling things or not understanding everything immediately. Of course one of my rights is again to open my mouth and criticize about things I don't fully agree with.

As an immigrant immigration policy is close to my heart. I have been brought up with a traditional manner with some kick in it. You always work hard (no matter what) and respect the culture around you. One feature to show the respect is to learn the language right? Well once again the amazing men approach you in the pub trying to small talk with you and during the conversation you find out that them guys have worked in Sweden as well. 6 months to 1 year and I felt angry when I found out that they didn't know a single phrase in swedish. Seriously! Not a single simple line! And swedish is one of the most easiest languages to learn!  At that point I decided not to bother with them guys. That is just plain ignorance and laziness. No one is going to come and talk to you if you don't make the effort, get out of your comfort zone and approach them.

And I probably testified the best ice breaking line ever: "So you guys are from scandinavia?". C'mon! Why didn't he just ask something more obvious like: "Hey you guys are women?". So of course when I'm in the mood I start taking the piss out of them: Jååå-å! We're from SwEdEn! Umeå! She is da nurse, she da midwife and I'm da daktar! JååÅå! For some odd reason the guy gave up walked away. Later thinking I feel a bit sorry for him but hey... plain hey how u doin? Would have worked pretty well.

I came to conclusion that unfortunately I'm approaching my big brothers levels of sick sense of humor.

My cupcakes have proven to become more delicious every single time. Behold! Blueberry-white chocolate-lemon cupcakes!

BTW Ville this is waiting for you:
The light bulb broke when trying to swap it. Now the metal thingy stayed inside that lamp thingy and as I'm afraid of electronic shock and only own 1 working upper limb I sit in the darkness with candles. Big brother come and save me!

You are in a absolute hurry and all you can see is a  masses of people randomly wondering around while it's raining cats and dogs resulting to a "The London panda"-look.

Sounds familiar?..

I have nothing against tourists wondering around and enjoying their time but seriously do you really have to stand in the middle of the road staring at that building and actually blocking the whole road with all of your shopping bags and that line "river dancing" line that apparently is a must when wondering around?

I thought that kind of lines of people are only formed in:
A When looking lost people in the woods.
B In historical warfare or a protests.
C When actually dancing the river dance.

Believe it or not but unfortunately when you guys are having a fab time and enjoying your short city break some of us have to actually work.

The age of technology has also formed a pandemic type of form of a people type who just makes others life much more difficult.

Do you seriously guys think that the smartphone works in the underground or why on earth playing with it is a must 24/7?! No, you cannot walk in an efficient phase with that thing in your hands! An in the tube: No more using my head as a book/magazine support...say hello to iPad holder!

New look
Wonder how those individuals would react if I accidentally manage to push them with my oh so clumsy limbs and they loose the hold of that loved item?...

Not doing that just yet. instead decided to focus some energy on me, myself and I again. Some occasional mani-pedi and pampering lifts your mood sky high! And I was superbly lucky this time. Hairmodelling= Hair lowlights+cut free of charge and got myself also the right color eyebrow tint. (thanks for the tip Minna) No more Miss ghost-when-without-make-up looking from the mirror!

This is why 2nd hand shopping proves to be a good thing in London. These shoes have been worn maybe 2 times when I looked at their soles...Too small for some one makes them perfect for me! (and only with a couple of pounds.)

The previous text and a mentioning about gaining my trust back towards men and England. There are so many corrections in so many things and actually I feel like as a tax payer I've been taken to notion pretty well but common to ALL western countries: Here's a french short film off things that are still not working how they ought to.

Men? Well... you get swiped off from your heels with amazing looks, brains and manners BUT the guy is in a such a job that making a date proves to be difficult and you just have to be spontaneous and hope that at some point he maybe able to run away for couple of hours and you happen to have some time as well.

Positively thinking this definitely makes life so much more interesting...

So this may work out or not BUT at least I gained my trust back and again believe that there are still individuals out there who makes my heart totally flip and sing serenades from the Dirty Dancing all night long.

So guys, I will have this massive grin on my face and be walking with a lighter step while spreading the good feeling all around me.

BTW: My niece would probably shoot me alive if I would have put one of my favorite gym songs here. (Britney Spears-Bitch Sooooo good for the glut's!).

So here's another one :

One of these mornings when all that you think is: "Wtf just happened?..." So there I was with my friend having just a 1 drink and ending up crawling home around 1 am....

I wonder why?....

The best part: Of course I almost started a fight as well: I saw a guy next to me taking pulse from his friend after 15s and after that taking our pulses in 5s trying to tell us that our pulses are around 80-90. So of course I had to check it out and calculate it for a minute instead of doing 4X15s an show off just to be literal again- (I would have been happy and settled without a problem if he would have been right (what he wasn't) and cheekily just smiled back and told him that he was wrong. Instead of laughing back at me he apparently took it personally and even me saying afterwards that sorry I can't remember the conditions and situation when 60 seconds is better to take in english etc.  due to the fact that I just came there to have fun with my friend and already had a few so it wouldn't be professional to keep on going about things I'm not fully able to do but lovely to meet you guys and sorry to interrupt etc. He decided that I'm not worth to talk to and started preaching how awesome he is and how he was trained by the best (I personally think that you shouldn't show of with the accomplishment of others...) and kept on going about that 24/7. Later my lovely friend Bexi just started laughing and pulled me aside "You're just trouble girl... Lets change seats!". Me also giggling about that situation. But hey seriously: Wonder why no-one seated next to them nor talked to them after that?... Have to say I was a bit shocked about his reaction. Some people just takes themselves a bit too seriously! Probably only a GP then. (Or a small mind?...) Specialists barely ever have the time to the gym nor to to have a few pints on a sunday. And here I go again taking the piss out of him...

People now a days just don't have no sense of humor! (Anne I know exactly what you're thinking and yes...it's me just sticking my nose to where I shouldn't and taking the piss out of people. Pushing the buttons purposely! I just can't help it! )
Johanna and the sweets. You cannot keep them separated for long!

I also had my girls visiting from Finland which made my year!

Satu Found a friend!

Best breakfast ever
Lock's of love

My shoulder may be in pieces but I still found my gym again. The only thing that keeps me in my almost right mind! But man those people trying to approach you at the gym can be a bit creepy. Huffing and puffing behind you or saying silly things like: "That looks intense...how u doing?..". Just please let me workout!

Yesterday I realized that the reason of me being single is probably do to the fact of me almost never going anywhere. (My blog is full of funny stories when I'm out but there's a reason I only write here occasionally and somehow after those lovely nights out...).

If I'm not studying, working or at the gym I'm babysitting! Babysitting has turned out to save my ass in this expensive city. And I have to say I love every single one of those kids! They keep me in the map of what is cool and what isn't and talking about enhancement of  the skill to live in a moment and appreciate the small things in life.. unbelievable how now I can see from just a single small lift of an eyebrow etc and know exactly what's going on in their little heads.

Yet again I've also been confused with the system and bureaucracy in England. Why on earth they make it so complicated?!..

How many english you need to change a light bulb= The answer is traditionally absolutely jolly good simple: minimum of 150 of course! You first have to provide suitable education for the individual with the levels from 1 to 3 (and this training is private of course and comes with a nice price..), then there's the board of light bulb changers who monitor the training and gives you all the permissions you need to get this act done. Don't forget those admin people who most of the time have no idea what they are doing and unfortunately always answer the phone when those in need of a new light bulb call...  You also need a supervisor for the light bulb changer and the supervisor of the supervisor and the different technical department who actually monitors this too! AND... ok. I think you got the point.

How about how many finns you need to change a light bulb? ONE. And she's 6 and saw her parent doing it before. Simples!

The beauty in this complex system never stops surprising me. And I have to say: I respect the tradition and there are so many beautiful things that I hope will never ever change in here but oh my lord they are sometimes waisting the public funding for so many ridiculous systems that it's unbelievable. Me, the famous penny stretcher,  can say as an outsider observing all of this with my mouth open and my sometimes too straight forward mind work:

ENGLAND PLS WAKE UP TO THIS CENTURY! EVERYTHING DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT COMPLICATED!

Talking about love and hate relationship here. Maybe filled with anger and confusion at time...I still call England my home.

But who am I to say anything?...

I found the article about the scandinavia absolutely fantastic. The reactions of different ethnic groups to that have been colorful (and again I came to conclusion that some people jut take themselves a bit too seriously..).

And what is all that tabu conversations of the coo-operation between Nazis and finns during the 2nd world war when we were facing the soviet as well?... I think all of the countries involved to the 2nd world war see anything to with it as a tabu. Here's a picture to show the vision provided by a british
artist about the situation that time period.

Instead of making a massive statements or starting a revolution..etc. I decide now to pull my woolen socks to my feet and wrap myself with blankets and actually concentrate to my studies again. (Why always when there's a need to somehow get the certain information into your head I end up studying something completely different?...).

And just to let you know: I gained my trust back towards England and men again. More details about this may follow later...
